SAP Launcher iView, SAPGui for HTML, and Nonfunctioning F4

Hello, all.

We have an issue with search help/popup/F4/etc not launching in SAP transactions launched in portal using Loader-Transaction iviews.

*This does not happen for all users.*

Therefore, I have worked with portal team to identify if broken people are missing browser settings.

Any other ideas?

(And please see attached. I enabled the browser (IE8) script debugger.

Attached is what I found, and where the browser is getting stuck. But if I click on the debugger's grren arrow (execute), then the F4 popup works!

    Hi,

The bit of JavaScript you point too appears to only be setting the domain value, are the portal and the its in the same domain? Could the issue be as simple as something to do with Popup blockers on the browser?

Is that screenshot from a user that gets the issue?

    Sorry I can't help more.

    Simon

    • Hi Eric,

It sounds like you are testing the right things. I would agree with you that it would appear to be PC related rather than user related based on your findings so far.

Just going back a few steps did you say in your original question that if you set a breakpoint in the JavaScript using the developer tools in IE8 and then choose to just continue after the code stops... then the popup works OK? Even for users where it would normally fail if just let run without setting the breakpoint?

Also there are a lot of settings in the browser... are you sure you have compared them all :-)

Are you not able to try this with a different browser at all? Can you not copy and paste the final URL into chrome or firefox and try it too?

Just trying to think of other things to try to give us some clues.

      Thanks,

      Simon
