Currency Translation to Presentation Currency from USD

Client has to present its Financial Statements both in USD (Group Currency) and CAD (Presentation Currency). The process requirement is to first convert to USD and than take those USD values and convert to CAD values.

Is it possible to achieve this using standard BPC Currency Translation or custom development is required? This should not be a very unique requirement so any feedback/suggestion will be appreciated.

    Hi Avi,

maybe I don't understand what you are asking, but if you have USD as group currency you will obtain this running the currency conversion and you will obtain CAD for reporting if you set the REPORTING property equal "Y" to your CAD currency.

    please see http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000726399&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_OBJECT=011000358700000498932010E

    Kind regards

    Roberto

    • Hello Avi,

For converting from USD to different presentation currencies, CAD, AUD, etc, you can write customized script logic that will fetch the exchange rate from Rate application (using *LOOKUP) and post a record in the desired currency CAD, AUD, etc in your case (using *REC).

You will have to use a DM package to call this script logic.

For more info on the syntax, process, etc, please refer to this blog -

      http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-26482

Although, blog talks about conversion from transaction currency to reporting currency, but it can be used in your case.

      Hope it helps!!
