How to see the Demand from MD04.

Hi All,

There is a unnecessary Purchase Requisition created for a component material. Can we determine why this was created. There are no Active orders which require this component. There is no safety stock or reorder point. But there is Safety Time indicator  and Safety time/act.cov. maintained in MRP2 view for this component.

can you share the MD04 screen

generally demand in MD04 will be display in - ve value

where as procurement proposal such as PR, Po will display in +ve value

during MRP system will do the net requirement

comparing the - ve quantity and postive qty

if - ve qty is more, system will create a PR for the difference

It is an purchase order, normally purcahse order is created by people.

one possibility could be there was demand before, and then via MRP running, PR is generated, somebody convert the PR to PO, but after that the demand is cannceled.

In purchase order , you can see the PR number if the PO is created from PR.

Yes there is a PR created. What I would like to know is what all could be the possible reasons which triggered this requirement ? Is there any way to specifically see the demand which triggered this on that particular date.

And can there be any way so that this situation can be avoided from occurring in the future ?

Might be the after the purchase order creation, demand is deleted for the order

Demand is deleted in any of the below way

1) reservation  is deleted after the PO creation in MB22

2) if its order component, then the order may be preclosed  (TECO), so that all the reservation will be deleted automatically. or component assigned in the production order is deleted

Planner should check the MRP result via MD05/MD06, pay more attention about some exception code for example 20 ( Cancel process ) and 50 ( no BOM.. ) .etc.
