how to know "how long will be complete the database export" .

Hi all

We are exporting oracle 9.2 database with unix.

We will know how long will be complete the database export.

now r3load jobs running 1, waiting0

The source data have 220GB.

Just SAPAPPL1 is being load.but We do not know when the job will be finish.

Please tell us.

Please check the throughput you are getting . This means check how much data is getting exported every minute .

In the export directory exexute the following

# du -sm .

After 10 mins check again how much is the size of the export directory .

A 220 GB database will have an export size of approximately 30GB , even though this varies.

With this info you can figure out a rough estimate of the time .

Also ensure you utilize the available CPUs to maximum possible extent as export is CPU intensive.
