SAP BW future

Can anyone guide me the future of SAP BW Module? I heard that it will going to obsolete and SAP will no longer support it in future because of performance issues.

Hi,

It is not that SAP is not going to support. This is the whole scenario.

BW had performance issues, so BI Accelerator was introduced.

Now customers want real time data for analytical purpose and it can come at the cost of performance.

Now SAP has to go with the In-Memory computing concept. HANA Came into picture.

Hence in future (2015) BW applications will be powered by HANA.

For front end we have Business Objects and HANA will have a seperate HANA DB. The Sybase will be used in DB part.

And all these do not mean BW will be obsolte, but we also need to adapt to the changing environment. The future will be In-Memory and On-Mobile stratergy.
