AC 10.0 plugin (RTA) compatible with 5.3 frontend?

Hello,

We have AC 10.0 installed in sandbox and are looking to implement by end of year. Until then, we are on AC 5.3 SP18 and looking to update to the latest support pack during our July maintenance period.

  • Is the GRC AC 10.0 plugin (RTA) backwards compatible with GRC AC 5.3?
  • i.e. Could we upgrade our RTA's to the 10.0 version and 5.3 would work as expected?
    • Is this feasible or are there implications for the frontend 5.3? (RAR for example)?
    • Are there implications for backend Firefighter (SPM)?

Please let me know if I need to clarify what I am asking.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Jes

Jes:

Please review SAP Note 1680268 - Compatibility of Access Control Packages.

In short, yes. You will be able to contine as you are with your AC 5.3 system and procedures until you are ready to go live with V10.

Thanks,

Hi Jes ,

Yes ,GRC 10.0 SP08 is compatible with GRC 5.3 SP18.

The GRC 10.0 plugin includes the 5.3 RTA within it.So when you deploy the 10.0 plugin , it will overwrite the VIRSA RTA's, however you can still connect your 5.3 systems.

An issue which we noticed in GRC 5.3 SP18 which might be relevant for you :

> Global mitigation is not working ( opened an OSS message & SAP is working on a fix)
