BPC 10 NW EnvironmentShell

I have inherited a BPC 10 NW installation and noticed the EnvironmantShell contained no data. In earlier versions of BPC the AppShell was populated. Thinking there was an install issue I deleted the EvironmentShell and reloaded it using the  UJS_ACTIVATE_CONTENT. It wan sucessfully with only a single warning R7 214 infoobject catelog /CPMB/ENVIRONMENTSHELL_CHAR is not available in version so it seems to have worked. The shell is now available in BPC but when I run a query it returns no data.

Under V10 should it have data?

Can anyone suggest what I need to do to get it to populate?

Thanks

Cliff

Hello Cliff,

BPC environmentshell won't have any transaction data of its own. It will contain only the master data. Your question does suggest that you have the master data in the environmentshell but you don't have any transaction data, so it's normal behavior.

Hope it helps!!

Thanks again. Yes I have master data. I have a recollection that the old Apshell came with transactional data and one of the first steps in creating a new Apset (Environment) was to copy it. At that time you have the option to copy data or just structures. Either my memory is faulty of SAP have changes the behaviour since version 7.

Hi Cliff,

I believe even Appshell didn't come with any transaction data in V 7.5. Not sure about earlier versions though.
