Manage Item by option in Item Master Data

When I try to update the ‘Manage Item By’ setting, I get the following error:

You can modify the 'Manage Item by' setting only when the available quantity is zero and there are no serial or batch numbers available.

However, we have already zeroed the stock for the items in all warehouses.

If it’s any help, some of the items had previously been Batch Managed, but were changed to ‘Manage Item by : None’ back in 2007. Also, the item(s) were changed to ‘Manage Item by : None’ back in 2007, but changed successfully to ‘Manage Item by : Batches’ recently.

Any assistance would be greatly received.
