Bex Query - Display Product Key + long text

Dear All,

In the BW report, when on 0product characteristic we choose to display as key and text. the text display is the short text.

Do you how we can display key + long text instead of key + short text ?

Hi,

I think you need to upgrade to BW 3.5 for this. You can choose which text to display in 3.5.

I could not understand your problem fully well...

Do you intend to always display the long text with key for characteristic (0Product) in BEx? In that case could you choose the appropriate value for BEx description in Business Explorer tab of the infoobject maintenance!

So you confirm that the short text is selected by default when we want to display key + text. With the version BW 3.5, we can select short text, medium text or long text.

I work on the BW 3.0B.

A workaround until 3.5 is to create another InfoObject, e.g. ZPRODUCT_NM, as a reference object to 0PRODUCT.

Then add it as a display attribute to 0PRODUCT.

Change the master data load to add a mapping in the transfer rule to map 0PRODUCT from the DataSource to the new attr, ZPRODUCT_NM as well as 0PRODUCT.

Then add the new attr to your query, change the 0PRODUCT characteristics to display as just Key and set the ZPRODUCT_NM attr to display as long or medium text as needed.
