What happens to queries if ICube is changed or data re-loaded?

Hello,

We are in development mode, and have just started building queries.

Now we are finding we need to makes some changes in InfoCube or corresponding ODSs. To make these changes, system makes us to off-load data from these objects (makes sense). I guess this is manageable because we should be able to re-load from PSA. Is there any better way because re-loading data takes too long? or are we missing something?

What happens to the queries when the relevant infocubes are changed?

If queries are lost due to structural changes; is it possible to save them somehow.. thanks

If you happen to remove one of the objects being used in the query from the cube, when you try to run the query again , It will pop up with a window asking to repair..that means it will remove the Info Objects from the query which are not present in the cube..

The rest of the query definition will stay intact..

It depend on what kind of changes you are looking to make..

One more quick pointer--> If you can satisfy your requirement by adding a navigational attribute you won`t have to delete the data..

    Ashish.

    Hi,

You could use the reconstruct tab while managing the data target to reload the request that you may have off loaded.

    Regards,
