How to find the Server HW and SW requirements

Hi,

We have to install new ERP 6.0 EHP6 and other CRM 7.0 EHP2 and NW 7.0 EHP3 systems. Previous installation guides for older than these versions directly give the minimum hardware and software requirements for the SAP systems to install. But for these latest versions the installation guide seems to be different and doesnt contain the minimum hardware or software requirements. The master guides suggests to use Quick sizer but I am confused in using the tool. The quick sizer results depending on users or throughput for separate functional area in every SAP product. Our requirement is just to install ERP 6.0 EHP6 system to develop add-ons. So I dont want to specify the ERP functional area like HCM, sales, Financials etc to calculate the requirements (same for CRM, NW etc).

So please suggest the way to calculate the minimum requirements for these new SAP releases to install.

Hello Ajay,

The systems you want to install are based on :-

ABAP :- NW 7.0 EHP3

Java:- NW7.3

I think you have to use the inst guides of above NW releases as par required.

The same thing is mentioned in the inst guide of the systems you want to install.

You can also run  the pre-reuisite  checker from the sapinst.

Thank you for the reply, but the installation guides are not similar to old guides. The content is been reduced and it doesnt contain these sections for pre-inst etc. Somehow we can estimate NW systems but for ERP it will be difficult with the estimations. Pre-requisite check is possible before the install but I want to request the servers to build with these specifications. So there is no server yet have to build as per requirements hence check is not applicable here.

Thats true, because installation procedure for NW 7.0 EHP3 and ECC 6.0 EHP6 is same.

Please find the content of ECC 6.0 EHP6 guide (page 5 )

NOTE
Specifically, you need to use the SAP NetWeaver server installation guides (ABAP or Java versions) in parallel to the Installation Guide for SAP ERP 6.0 Including Enhancement Package 6 ABAP and Java: 6ï ^" Installation Guide - SAP Systems Based on the Application Server ABAP of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Including EHP 3 on <OS>: <DB> 6ï ^" Installation Guide - SAP Systems Based on the Application Server Java of SAP NetWeaver 7.3 on <OS>: <DB>

So you need to parallaly use these 2 guides, during installation.

But how can we determine the space requirements for ERP/ CRM systems now?. One more thing that I could not find the NW 7.0 EHP3 inst guide at marketplace. Except EHP3 it contains all other guides including NW 7.3 EHP1. Could you see NW 7.0 EHP3 guide at Market place?

Thanks vishal, but here it contains Inst: Gateway on Windows based on NW 7.03 not the NW 7.03 Installation guide. This guide here shows the minimum space required is 2.5 GB. which is for separate gateway server installation and not for the full NW 7.03 primary instance installation.

So it seems this guide is only specific to gateway server installation. But I couldn't find NW 7.03 primary instance inst guide.

In case of problem, it says:-

Minimum disk space

Database Software:

4 GB

SAP system files (not including paging file):

5 GB (x64)

8 GB (IA64

SAP database files (not including paging file):

For ERP:- 48 GB
For CRM:- 30 GB

4.3 GB of temporary disk space for every required installation medium that you have to copy to a local hard disk

Minimum RAM
4 GB

Thank you so much for the help Vishal. Earlier I was not able to find this guide under Netweaver tree structure. Under Netweaver it was showing only EHP1 and EHP2. So I thought it is not there. So as per this we have the minimum specs now.
