Hi Asit,

1.Try deleting the aggregates and do the compression and then try to recreate the aggregates..

2. take a look at OSS Note 217397

3. check cube in RSRV and see if there is any inconsistency for this cube..

4.check if previous compression/last compression job finished successfully,,if not what are the errors

5. check SLG1 log for job

6. check for ST22 if there is any dump

Thanks and regards

Hi,

Whether your cube is a source for other infoproviders? If so unless u move the data to furthur infoproviders you cannot compress the request. Please check your dataflow and reply back.

Dear All,

This is the setting   for the  Collapse variant in the process chain .

  •   For this Collapse variant message is compression not necessary ,no requests.

Thanks,

Asit

This variant will look for a request which is loaded the day before the compression.

So if you want to compress everything, put the xxx days to 0.

Or you do have a lot of requests which meet the condition?

Hi Asit,

Compression running today will compress yesterday's request. Check if there is TICK mark under compression status

Is this PC running bi-weekly? Do you have any process step of Drop Infocube before loading? In that case, compression won't work because there will be only one request of the present load

Hi Asit,

Please try the steps mentioned in the above posts.

Also right click and cross check if the correct cube (inventory cube) is added to compression variant.

(This should not be the issue. but in case by mistake wrong cube was added)

Thanks,

Vinod

Dear All,

  • Data is  loading to Inventory cube by Process chain.
  • In Process chain compression variant is available for compression.
  • Data is loaded successfully with  Request  Status is Green

              No error Message .

Yes but what happens when you compress the cube:

1. manually?

2. via process chain?

3. if it does not work with any of these two, what does the compression log say

What are the settings maintained in variant?

Based on the conditions maintained, compression will be performed.

Is the compression starting? What does the job log say?

Hi Asit,

As said by friends, post the error message you get while compression.

Few possibilities are memory issues and count overflow due to huge data. If there is any dump, paste dump message here

Hi Asit,

Do you have a step to compress request in same process chain which loads data to cube?

or are you using a separate process chain that compress cubes?

Also did you try to manually compress the request of inventory cube?

Thanks,

Vinod

Do you get any error message?  Compression is a DB-intensive operation, it could be that the temp space is not big enough.
