How can I close a PM notification with both system status and user status simultaneously ?

Dear Experts,

I came up with a new requirement for my clients. Requirement is to close the notification where user status and system status should get closed accordingly.

Planning to use BAPI or BDC for the requirements.

I am using the below BAPI program to execute the process.

1. BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CLOSE

But the challanges I am coming across that its not updated as per the expectation. Please guide me or correct me if I am wrong in following the steps. If anyone can guide me steps by step would be appreciable.
