Hi
We want to install Double-stacks(java+abap) on one database ,But Web Application services 6.20 do not support install that together.
So,We have to install java stack after abap. And using document [ SAP Web Application Server 6.20 on UNIX:Oracle 9.2.0 ]
Our questions in P63.
We have two questions about running SAPinst.
1.Which CD we should use?
a. −= A central instance, a database instance, a dialog instance, or Upgrade SAP Central Instance Java Core, mount the SAP Kernel CD.
b −= A gateway instance or additional components, mount the SAP Presentation CD. In this case, replace <KERNEL CD> with <Presentation CD> in this section.
2.Which chioce we should?
a. −= A central, a database, or dialog instance (without SAP J2EE Engine), select SAP Web Application Server 6.20 for Oracle - Default.
b. −= Upgrade SAP Central Instance Java Core, select Upgrade SAP Central Instance Java Core 6.20.
c. −= Dialog instance (including SAP J2EE Engine), select SAP Web Application Server 6.20 Dialog Instance for Oracle - Java.
d. −= Additional components, select SAP System Additional Components.
e.−= A gateway instance, select Install SAP Gateway.
Thanks
Hello,
I have failed to understand your query completely but here it goes:
1) a: You will find the kernel CD in SMP for your release.
2)a. You need to install a complete system for both ABAP and JAVA ( that includes DB,CI and SCS; Dialog instance is not mandatory)
Firstly, you have to install two separate systems, one ABAP and one JAVA with different SID's.
The ABAP has to installed first and post activities ( client copy etc) completed.
The JAVA system is installed next with UME pointing to the earlier installed ABAP.
The same installtion master can be used for both the installations.
Let me know if your enviromnent is Central/Distributed/High Availibilty.

Sonia

Hi Anvardheen,
After installation of any SAP systems you need to perform post - installtion activities which can be found in the installation guide.
For specific UME purpose, I had mentioned post activities for ABAP, since during Java installation, the UME details need to be given ( like client, user id and pwd etc of ABAP system), hence I insisted that ABAP post be done before java installation so that you can give a production client info rather than the standard clients.
For java specific post activities, kindly go through the installation guide.
Regards,
Sonia
