Hi
I am new to SAP BW. when ever i find forums about open hub destination i come to know only about what is OHD and its use. Thats fine.
But I am little bit confused where we really come across this and let me know the exact business scenario in real time?
THanx in AdVnce!
Hi,
I will share a scenario in which we have used OHD for one of our clients.
Client had all the data in BI, whereas for APO planning purpose they were using different front end tool, which is based on Oracle.
So to send data to that tool, we placed all our data in OHD (which will be daily update) and those people will be extracting the data from the OHD tables.
This is because, for some reason they cannot extract data from star schema table, but they can extract it only from nomalized table. So we have place it in OHD in which the data will be stored in the format of flat table.
In this way, OHD was required for business scenario.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Hi Friend,
Current system does not have company code not even coming from ECC, how to rectify this if you know the company code value? And how to updated into all relevant providers?
For the above scenerio, we can generate the excel files with Open hub option. In this we need to be hardcoded value for Company code in the transformation between DSO to Open Hub.
If once generate the files then re-load files into now relevant providers.
Hope it gives idea about Open hub usage.
Thanks,
Ram

when you want to use data outside BI some third party tool for further processing then you use open hub to send data outside bw.
Generally we dum data in flat file format (XL CSV) @ application server and then third party tool will pick data from there for further processing.
few nice docs are availeble link below.
I hope this will help you.
Thx

Hi Venkateswarlu,
As said by Chandra, Open hub destination is used to export data from SAP BW to non-SAP systems like flat file or database tables.
for Configuring SAP BW Open Hub Destination, you can refer to:

Hi,
When ever we want to move data from sap bi to flatfile, table we use open hub destinations. Here BI is the source system and flatfile or table are the destinations.
Where as Extraction is used to pull data into BI from different source system.
Check these doucments....

Hi Venkateswarlu,
Sometimes requirement comes in such a way that we have to load the to a file or a table. In that case we go for OHDs.
Data from InfoCubes, DataStore Objects, InfoObjects (attributes or texts), and InfoSets can be loaded to Database tables (in the database for the BI system) and flat files
