SAPINST Problem - Urgent

Hi guys,

I runned sapinst and already installed the database.

After that I continued with sapinst.

As I had to go to a meeting, I exited sapinst with "exit".

I read everywhere, that this is ok and the process is continuing in backend.

But now i tried to reconnect to sapinst, and it failed.

I also check the processes, with (ps -ef | grep sapinst).

But no process found?

What should I do now?

Should I start the installer again and it will continue?

What was my mistake?

Thx for help

    Hi,

You can check the sapinst_dev.log in sapinst_instdir to ensure that your installation is complete.

Thats not a problem .. just kill the process .. SAPINST has completed successfully. Its not going to affect your installed SAP system .

      Hi Ratnaji,

      thx for fast help

      I think you missunderstood me.

SAPInst was not finished as I exited the gui.

But now there is no process running calles sapinst (I checked it a few seconds after closing the gui).

So it looks, like sapinst aborted with the "exit" command in the gui.

      What should I do now?

      Should I restart sapinst?

      Will it continue the installation?

      Great thx for help
