Hello, I have a question. Currently there is a solution manager system installed, this system is called SolMan production and are configured all enterprise systems, SAP ERP (Dev, QA, PRD) SAP BI (Dev, QA, PRD) SAP PI (Dev, Qa,PRD), etc. Management is requesting to install a new system SolMan development. What is the best practice?

1) Export import the Solman System current?

2) System Copy?

3) New installation? (only connect satelites system Dev a Qa)

Best Regards,

Eli Daniel

Hi,

I would suggest the below:

- Install a new Solution Manager DEV, as system copy procedure seems to bring in many inconsistencies and old links. You would need more time to clean these up.

- As per the SLD Design guide, the Central SLD for Non-Prod Landscape could send the data to DEV SolMan. And the Central SLD for Prod Landscape should send the data to PRD SolMan.

- However I would suggest to also send the data from non-prod SLD to the PRD SolMan as for capabilities like CHARM, TEA etc, the SolMan needs to know the entire 3 system landscape. This ofcourse depends on the capabilities you use.

Refer SLD+SolMan design guide at:
