EPM BPC 10 NW Consolidation Monitor Custom Currency Translation

I would like to add custom Currency Translation to my project in BPC 10 NW. I would like the users to be able to use the button in the Consolidation Monitor to run it. I have an SAP doc that states for that the Consolidation Monitor:

“The respective programs for currency conversion and consolidation are called directly. No logic script is called , therefore no custom calculations can be executed”

Is this really the case, as the document was written durning product ramp up? Is there a way to edit the “respective programs”?
