We recently converted several reports from Crystal Reports 8 to 11.5 (Service Pack 6). We tested the printing of these reports on the MIS test printer. When these reports were released to Production, they worked fine with selecting whatever the Windows default printer was assigned to the client workstation. These reports are NOT viewed in the Crystal Report Viewer first. The go directly to the designated printer.
A month later, we made a change to the reports in Crystal 11 (a database field was enlarged). The printing of these reports was again tested on our MIS printer. Then they were released to Production. The reports now print to the MIS printer from ANY of the client workstations, which is not a good situation.
We have tried checking the "No Printer" checkbox in the Page Setup, and then going back into Page Setup and un-checking it without clicking the PRINTER button (which goes into the default printer assignment) as suggested by some entries in the SAP Community. No Go. Crystal doesn't seem to want to recognize whatever the Windows default printer is set to until you click the PRINTER button and go into that second screen. But that second screen permanently sets the default printer to a specific printer.
Is there some other way to get the reports to go back to using the Windows default printer like they did before?
