Reporting on Material Master Change Documents providing a field and searching for affected material

Hi all,

I am facing the problem to evaluate change documents on material, but everything I find in standard starts from a specific material. My problem is to have a field and searching for all material where this field has changed. Since there is no index to evaluate CDPOS / CDHDR in this direction, our report to find this out is not able to search within several month over more than a million materials.

Is there any chance to improve this and is there any offer from the standard SAP on this question?

Please note: Transaction AUT10 does not exist in this system. Also this in an ECC 6.0 system!

I have not seen anything in standard that gives this functionality.

you can check yourself. go into SE11, enter table CDPOS and display, select the field FNAME and click where-used icon.

We have some own reports to retrieve such information,

Thank you Jürgen,

we also have such a report but in our case this report is not sufficiently supported by any index. So there is no chance to report on lets say 120.000.000 change document lines containing the field searched for together with others and affecting our 1.000.000 materials. Within the period on question we have more than 500.000 change documents. For this days do not reach out. Some intelligence is needed. Since CDPOS is a pool table and no index exists, this will just work, if there is any other table supporting index requirements.

I know that AUT10 for pharmacy answers such questions but since we do not have "Electronic Records" I have no idea, how SAP solved the problem - and if they have established some additional index in this module I will of course miss it.

What do you actually do with this info?

if I encounter a wrong entry, then I check in the change history who has done it and approach him by telefon or mail.

A query on material master records will then give me all materials that have this wrong value, or the person who made the change can provide me with a list which was used to do these changes.

Alternative you could then use RSSCD100 report to find all change documents that were created by his user id  for the material master object in a certain time.

And of course scheduling the reports in background to avoid timeouts.

Hi Jürgen,

we know that a field has been handled by an interface during a longer period erroneous. Now we need to correct the affected materials by repeating material distribution for the affected materials towards a lot of systems. We need to find out the affected materials to restrict the volume to be distributed.

RSSCD100 has no select option on the affected field.

I had not said that RSSCD100 has the field name as select option.

But it is able to search for change documents by object , user id and date range.

I hope you do not have such cases regulary. Assuming it is a one-time event you should do the selection with an own ABAP and accept a longer runtime.
