BO4 Security - why need to add access to web intelligence application specficially

Hi,

Creating security model and assigning user to Groups.

Have created an access level called Creators as needed slight difference in rights to the supplied default access levels.

In here had given granted level to this  new access level for Documents - enable creation and create queries against universe.

Found this not enough - had to specfically go to the Applications area of CMC and give this access level to the group in here.

Is this necessary to have to specifcally grant access to the applications this way rather than just configuring access for the access levels within

CMC/Access Levels

Any ideas?

Hi Philip,

Yes, you must give access to applications if you want users to be able to use it.

You will also need access to universes and connections.
