Change Profit Center - MIGO

Hi Experts,

Greetings to all...

I wish to ask following question:

I have a material whose profit center is XYZ and I created a PO and after that business asked me to change the profit center for the material so I updated the profit center of the material in "Sale General/Plant Data" and changed the profit center to ABC. During update it shows me warning message "There are atill open purchase order items or schedulling agreements" and I saved the material and profit center got updated.

But during the MIGO of the PO created still shows the profit center as XYZ. So I wanted to ask:

1. Why it is picking old profit center

2. Is there anyway I can change the profit center in MIGO or PO.

Since you changed the profit center after creating the PO that's the reason it is picking old profit center

No way, you need to delete the PO or the Line item & create new line item in same PO or create New PO.

Hi Uday,

You can change the profit center in MIGO, if you are able to create Infoset Query on pending document . You know we can create query using Logical Database or Infoset query where logical and infoset query can affect table directly.

You need to take these field in your query.

Purchasing Document Number

Item Number of Purchasing Document

Article Number

Plant

Profit Center

Hi,

You can delete the line item of PO and change the PO which contains the newly updated  Profit center.

Hi ,

Since system is showing you a warning message at the time of changing Profit Center related to Open PO's.

1) Pls ensure that Profit Center in PO is the new updated Profit Center.If it is previous Profit center then delete the line item & recreate it.This time system will update the profit center.

2) Also Make sure that you are using same plant while PO Creation & MIGO against which Profit center has been changed in Materil Master.(Since Profit center is maintained Plant wise in Material master).

Hi,

You can put deletion indicator for first line item and create a new line item with same material.

As you are able to change the profit center I'm assuming that there is no stock in the system.

SAP Note 141009 - Resetting new profit center for PO which are without account assignement.

Migo would have been created before the changes were done in the material master. Please bring the MIGO in change mode and then save it again. Let us know if it works.
