What capabilities exist to run WebI reports or trigger events from the command-line?

There are no command line capabilities to run webi reports.

Not sure what you mean by even triggering.

Here is what I mean by triggering an event.

Yep, file based even + schedule that is based on that event is the only way I know of.

You can try asking in SDK forums for a different way, maybe there is a script using SDK that can be triggered outside of BOE and unleash Webi schedules.....

The important part is "I don't want my reports to run until I know that the remote universes have been refreshed for the day"

In what form is this information received?

"How" do you know taht the remote universes have been refreshed? is it a database flag? a file creation? an email? a colleague calling you?

An sdk script will allow you to schedule reports after checking a database flag for example, and a schedule on file event will work easily if a file is created. But First you need to know what the initial trigger looks like.

Unsure what you wish to do, but you could call OpenDocument urls (with a command line for your browser for example), to open, set parameters, refresh and display webi docs.

Guide for openDocument:

As for triggering events, are you talking of events for schedules? You can schedule on 'file' event, in that case your command lines only need to create a file in the right location to trigger the schedules.

Antoine,

I have a bunch of scheduled reports that I am running against remote universes located on a partner company's system.  I don't want my reports to run until I know that the remote universes have been refreshed for the day.  Thus the need for a trigger.

I understand that I can do the file based event.  I was just trying to explore all of the options.

Thanks.
