'Valid from' suppressed in tolerance profile derivation strategy

Hello All,

Recently, new requirements have been identified to derive specific tolernace profiles based on quarter for a specific set of funds.

I wanted to create the specific tolerance profiles, and set up a derivation rule so that the valid from option could be invoked.

In testing this, I noticed that I cannot select the 'valid from' option on the attributes tab.  Is this a system limitation?  I searched OSS and was not successful in finding a documented error.

Hi,

Could you please specify your request? Do you want to derive a profile based on 'valid from' field from the fund master data? In this case, you'll have to read the master data table for funds: the field is not simply available for derivation. Otherwise, please clarify your objective.

Regards,

Eli

Hi Eli,
Below is the scenario of what I am hoping to do:
suppose I have two tolerance profiles set up in my system as followis:
TolprofA = 110% availibilty
TolprofB = 100% availibilty.
Now let's assume for the first quarter (april 1st to June 30th) of the fiscal year, when posting to fund AAAA I would like to deriveTolprofA and beginning on July 1st I want to derive TolprofB when posting to this fund.
I wanted to create a derivation rule with a condition set to :
Fund AAAA
(and assuming that I'd be able to click the 'valid from' on the attribute tab), I then wanted to have a derivation tabel with 2 lines:
SourceDateTarget
FundValid FromTolerance Profile
AAAA01-Apr-12TolprofA
AAAA01-Jul-12TolprofB
However, I am finding that the 'valid from' date while displayed on the tab, is not actually available for selection.

Hi,

Indeed, this field is integrated in the tables for derivation rules, but it's not availalble for the maintenance. This field is a part of a key in the tables and its value is set to 01.01.0001. You should use BADI (FMAVC_DERI_AFMT) to enhance your tolerance profile strategy, if you want to play with the periods. Alternatively, you can think of integrating 'Budget Period' object in your FM, and base profile on this.
