Material groups 1-5 Sales org 2

"Found" fields Material groups 1-5 on the Sales org 2 tab in material master.

Are these fields "safe" to use for grouping of materials or could they end up in strange places?

Are these connected to Material group on Basic data 1 tab?

Yes, You can use them to group materials, but these fields are for SD module use.

These can be used for reporting, driving pricing, Listing and Exclusions and so on.

When you maintain these, the details are displayed in the sales documents and not the purchasing documents.

Lots of thread with this 5 Material groups, You can get report with table MVKE.

In SE16, enter table MVKE, enter your material code selection and click on execute button. You get list of materials with your requirement

Check fields -> MVGR1, MVGR2, MVGR3,MVGR4, MVGR5,
