An Internal error occurred while calling answer prompt(API)(WIS_30270)

Hi,

I have a report in which there are six queries.I ran all the individual queries in the database. Two queries are taking around 3 mins. Rest of the queries are running in few sec. but when I run this report in BO XI R 3,the report is running for around 6 mins and it is showing error “An Internal error occurred while calling answer prompt(API)(WIS_30270).

Can anyone please tell me why it is happening and what is the solution for this error?

HI Ranjitha,

I have faced similar issue sometime back and found that there were common filters with same prompt text but one was optional and other was not. so if the filter is same and its prompt text is also same then you might want to check the prompt properties.

Also one of the possible reason could be the data type of the entered value in the prompt in any of the query from the 6 queries.

There may be several reasons for this this type of error..

---> The user group or document domain associated with the document is in- valid or cannot be found.

---->Information about the document or the data source is invalid or not available.

The above considerations apply if all queries are failing.

There is something in those queries that generates the error which encompasses a wide series of possible causes.

The only way to analyze this type of error is to activate some trace logs (see KBA 1335757)  and analyze the query structure. It could also be a known bug, hence worth to try a test on the latest available patch levels (SP5 and SP4 + FP4.1)
