Help in changing the date in 'Required Date' of a Shopping cart

Hi All,

I am working in SRM 5.0. I have a requirement , where the user must be able to enter date in the field 'Required Date' while creating SC through Describe Requirement.

Currently the 'Required Date' is defaulted with 'Current System date'. Now I must be able to remove this defaulted system date and force the user to enter the date and the same has to be captured in my SC and also in the follow on document - Purchase Requisition.

I am not able to overwrite the date in the field 'Required date' using the BADI 'BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI' as for every action, the over written date is getting refreshed to the current system date.

Please help me in assisting whether this date field can actually be changed according to the user's input.
