Proportional factors in BEx Report

Hi Everyone,

I have a reporting requirement to display proportional factors in a BEx Report:

The requirement is as explained in the example below:

Key Figure Ctry State 2009 2010 Result Quanity US NY 100 400 500 Quanity US CA 200 400 600 Quanity US Result 300 800

In the example below I have key figure Quanity, characteristics Country and State across years 2009 and 2010.

1. The result if you see in terms of states is 300 and 800 respectively for years 2009 and 2010.

2. The result if you see in terms of years is 500 and 600 respectively for state NY and CA.

The same thing I have to represent in terms of percentage proportions as explained below:

1. Quantity1 in terms of percentages, considering interms of States:

Key Figure Ctry State 2009 2010 Quanity1 US NY 33.33% 50% Quanity1 US CA 66.66% 50% Quanity1 US Result 100% 100%

2. Quantity2 in terms of percentages, considering interms of Years:

Key Figure Ctry State 2009 2010 Result Quanity 2 US NY 20% 80% 100% Quanity 2 US CA 33.33% 66.66% 100%

Can anyone explain me how I can achieve this using BEx Query Designer:

I already tried %CT and %GT but since the key figure is in row's it is not working as I would like to.

Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,

RAJA

    Hi,

I can tell you the solution pertaining to your requirement 1in which you need to calculate % interms of state.

So the calculation should be (100/300)*100 this will give you 33.33.

As you want to consider the sum of Q1 state wise for corresponding years.I would suggest to use SUMCT function.

Make a new formula and use sumct (Q1).This will give you result of the Q1 and then you can apply your % formula

Just give a try to this solution and let me know if this works or not.

    Hope that helps.

      Hi Anshu,

Thanks for reply, I have used the same but instead having to calcuate the sum and then do the %. I used %SUMCT which is the same.

But since my key figure is in rows the system is not able to calculate the values and is showing me red cross mark "X". I am not sure if this requirement is not possible unless I keep my key figures in columns or I can use some sort of Cell definition that will help me doing such calculations.

      Any comments will be appreciated.

      Thanks & Regards,

      Raja
