Hi,
Are there any standrd email notifications that can be turned on for the following scenarios?
1) When an expense report is sent back (by either the expense department or manager) to the employee for correction.
2) When the expense report is routed to the manager for approval

I've dealt with that problem earlier. Are you using a workflow or POWL?

We are using workflow for travel expense approval. Thanks for your reply and link. Since we are using workflow your link doesn't really apply to us. Before we modify the workflow, I wanted to check if there was any standard workflows which we could activate that already did these notifications.

Hi,
the Standard workflow WS20000040 (Trip Approval) is not in accord with your requirements. You would have to copy this Workflow Template using TA PFTC and alter this copied template with the tasks and steps you require. Important: There is no need to modify the standard in your use case!
Example where you'd have to build in steps in your copied template:
