Automatic PR Not Triggering for MRP Type VB

Dear All,

the maximum stock level was changed by user to 10,000 units from 8,000 units on 27.04.2012. Prior to that an Automatic PR was created on 24.04.12 for 2000 units. the reorder point is 6500 units and minimum lot size is 1000 units. the current stock is 1490 units. the MRP type is VB and the Lot size is HB (Replenish to Maximum stock level).

since the user changed the maximum stock level on 27.04, therefore a PR should have been triggered for 2000 units to replenish to max stock. but no PR generated.

kindly assist why this is happening.

expecting prompt responses

Regards,

    Hi Jammy,

Did you delete the PR that was created on 24.04.12?

If not, delete this first and run again the MRP.

Then, you will see the new PR with the correct quantity.

    I hope this help.

    Kind regards,

    SP

      Hi Sandra,

No, i have not deleted the PR created on 24.04.12.

the business does not want to delete the PR.

since the Maximum stock level was increased, so a PR should have been generated automatically which is not the case here.

      Kindly Suggest.

      Best Regards,

      Jammy

    Hi Jammy,

Check in MD04 if you have any open PO's / firmed PR's or any other receipts in pipeline.

Else in MD02 for planning mode use option "3" and try to run MRP again.

It should create a new PR for 2000 qty if your earlier PR is firmed.

    Regards

SAP triggers a new requisition if you are below reorder point. But you are not below reorder point since you have a open PR which is already bigger than your reorder point.

You only increased the maximum stock level, this does not trigger MRP to create another

    PR.
