Intergration between EP and BI Portal

Hi,

We want to integrate our Enterprise portal with our BI portal. Both the servers are in Netweaver7.3 same patch level

The integration will be using FPN

So, if anybody can give us step by step process of this integration.

If you jusy want to integrate BI Portal reports to EP Portal, I would susggest you go  for RAI approach. This will reduce your maintenance effort for PCD Objects in BI Portal..

In this approach, you can directly create the PCD iViews for BI reports and all on the Enterprise Portal..This will also save you from the FPN bottlenecks..

But I created FPN connection between EP and BI Portal. How I will decide which system will be consumer and which is producer?

As I can see Consumer and producer is showing my EP system only. I have attached the screenshot for your reference

Can anybody let me know what is consumer portal and what is producer portal?

Your BI Portal would be the producer and EP as consumer....did you register BI Portal system as producer in EP??

Did you evaluate RAI for your scenario? It may make your life easier..

Hi Sandip,

Have you seen the above screenshot? EP is showing producer and consumer. And during integration of FPN it has not asked for any producer or consumer

How to register BI portal system as producer in EP, please let me know

And what is RAI? As I am new to this EP integration, so having lot of questions

producer will generate content, consumer just display it.

you have to register producer in your consumer portal.

Hi,

When I created the FPN connection I can see my Portal system shown as Producer and consumer both. How can I make my BI Remote system as Producer? In the configuration wizard it does not ask for which system you want Producer and which for consumer.

Can you help me in this

Look at RAI documentation, you dnt need FPN connection..

Just create a system object in Portal for the BI Portal concerned, and then create Portal iviews/pages on the Enterprise Portal using the Bex (7.0) iview templates..Use the System Object for BI Portal in these templates with your Report ID..

Hi,

I found one link where it says how to configure FPN with two below options-

Creating an FPN Connection Without SLD

and

Creating an FPN Connection Using Systems in SLD

but when I navigate to

System Administration Federated Portal SAP NetWeaver - FPN Connections Manage My FPN Connections

The Add to My FPN connection button is disabled, also the New --> FPN Connection is disabled.

How I can make these buttons enable please let me know
