Delivery date in forward scheduling

Hello All,

We have some materails with MRP type as VB and this is externally procured material. the other details are

Plannd delivery time = 1 day

GR processing time = 1 Day

SMK = 001 (opening day as 1)

Now when the MRP is executed on say 3rd may the PR is created with follwing details,

Request date -- 03.05.2012

Release Date -- 03.05.2012

Delivery Date --- D --03.05.2012

My question is --- if the PLANNED DELIVERY TIME IS MAINTAINED AS 1 DAY THEN WHY SYSTEM IS GIVING DELIVERY DATE AS SAME DATE AS

RELEASE DATE. IT SHOLD BE 04.05.2012 IN THE ABOVE EXAMPLE.

Please advice.

Thanks.

S J

    Dear S J,

    As per Standard SAP.......

1)"today" scheduling: The system carries out forward scheduling using the current date as a basic start date or as a openig date.

    2) forward scheduling: The system schedules forward starting from the basic start date.

Basically as u r planning on the basis of Forward Scheduling system considers the requirement is on Key date.

Most Probably Forward scheduling is used for an order if raw material is already avail with u.

With IMG if u select Planning in the Past allowed then system will consider the same.

Pls revert and Reward if u satisfied.

    Best Regards

    Sujeet
