Dear Rajesh,
What do you mean by, 'set up link between R/3 & HTTP'?
Does that weblink contains the technical documents? If so , what is that system? Is it SAP DMS or some other file system?
You need to explain your situation in detail, clearly, then only people can help you better.

Hi,
that weblink is a common file path(shared) used by client to store technical documents,
So it is not stored in SAP and it is some other storage system
So the documents will have these weblinks in original file and whenever user clicks on these weblinks he shoud get the techincal documents stored in weblink
This is my requirement
please help

Rajesh Rajagopal
Rajesh,
Why do your client want to store the technical documents in another database/ server, when you guys are implementing SAP DMS?
Advise you to discuss this in detail with your client. You can store securely in DMS. Your client can control, who can access these documents.

Dear Rajesh,
I haven't done anything like this before, may be I have not come across such business requirement.
How ever What would you achieve just by including the URL in the DIR?
Why can't you put this (these) URLs in one file and check-in this file in to DIR?
If you want to open the file, stored in some other system & database, within SAP, then this would become very complex.
What is the final requirement? What exactly your client is looking at? Unless your requirement is clear it's quite difficult to answer your queries.

Amaresh Makal
