BALANCE CARRY FORWARD AND ACCOUNT CALCULATION LOGIC ERROR

Hi Experts,

My balance carry forward and account calculation logic is not working if I give it dynamic values such as CURRENCY = RPTCURRENCY_SET% , CATEGORY=%C_CATEGORY_SET%, TID_RA=%TIME_SET%. However if I hard code the values such as CURRENCY = LC , CATEGORY=ACTUAL, TID_RA=2012.01 , it works fine. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Sanjeev Kumar

    Hi Sanjeev,

    Please try the following script:

    *RUN_PROGRAM COPYOPENING CATEGORY = %C_CATEGORY_SET% CURRENCY=%RPTCURRENCY_SET% TID_RA = %TIME_SET% ENTITY=%ENTITY_SET% *ENDRUN_PROGRAM

    Also, make sure the business rules for Carry forward is correctly setup and application parameters are in place.

    Incase you are also using a datarsc dim make sure you have the property "COPYOPENING" and value set to "Y" for the members you want to consider in copy opening.

    You need to also check if you have required dimension member properties in your Category Dim

    Regards

    Jigar

      Jigar,

      Thank you very much for your response.

      I am using exactly the above logic. I have checked Copyopening and other essential properties for category ( opening_period, Opening_year, opening category).

      Also this logic is working when I hard code the values in the logic file, so BR is good too.

      What else do you think I should look at. Thanks!

      Regards,

      Sanjeev

    Hi

    Does anyone know select statement to troubleshoot this problem. I came across a post where it was mentioned that this problem could be solved by using select statement in the logic.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    I use this script:

    *RUN_PROGRAM COPYOPENING

    CATEGORY=%CATEGORY_SET%

    TID_RA=%TIME%

    OTHER=[ENTITY=%ENTITY_SET%]

    *ENDRUN_PROGRAM

    Try and see if it works for you as well.
