Capacity Evaluations

Dear Expert,

I my routing, my first operation 0010 is of drilling followed by othe operations. I am doing this operation on CNC and hand machine. For every production order, drilling on part quantity is done on CNC and drilling on part qty is done on hand machine. Suppose there is a production order of 100 pcs, 75 pieces are done on CNC and 25 done on hand machne. Thid drilling process on both the way is simultameous process. How to map this in routing as we are into descrete manufacturing. Also please tell me how to do the capacity levelling for above. Step by step process with transaction will be helpful. How system split the prder qty on two work centers?

    Hi,

There are different ways to fulfill your requirement. Like if you can fix up the quantity split at routing level itself, you can maintain routing master as follows:

    Sequence 0 (Main sequence)

    0010 WC1 Op.1 Drilling (CNC)

    0020 WC2 Op.2 Turning

    0030 WC3 Op.3 Polishing

Sequence 1 (Parallel to seq 0)

    0010 WC1x Op.1 Drilling (Hand m/c)

Here, Seq.1 Op.1 is the split of Seq.0 Op.1. Now, follow the below steps to split the quantity between these operations:

Example: You want to split 75% to CNC and 25% to Hand m/c. Then,

Double click operation 0010 in main seq 0.

In the operation details screen, under 'Unit of measure conversion', maintain value against 'Header' as 1 & against 'Operation' as 0.75 (CNC)

Now, go to seq.1 and double click operation 0010.

In the operation details screen, under 'Unit of measure conversion', maintain value against 'Header' as 1 & against 'Operation' as 0.25 (hand m/c).

Alternate solution is split operation quantity at order level if machines (capacities) belong to same work center. But in your case, I suppose CNC and Hand m/c belong to different work centers.

Hope it will solve your requirement.

Thanks Sudhakar for your valuable suggestions.

As suggested by you, I have created a parellel sequence for first operation 0010. I have crerated a production order of 10 pcs. So 8 qunantity for operation 0010 of sequence 0 and 2 quantity of operation 0010 of sequence1.

Wnen I am doing the milestone confirmation using PP03 kay and CO11N transaction, operation 0010 of sequence 1 is not getting confirmed. Also all components are getting consumed against operation 0010 of sequnece 0. How to resolve this? Please also suggest the use of branching operation.
