Problem with prompt and report filters

Hi, all.

We install SAP BO 4.0, but there are few problem with Web Intelligence

1) we have few prompts and fill this prompt parametrs, and check properties  "Keep last values" and save document, but then we reopen document the prompts is emty.

2) then we public document on BI Launch pad, we cannot use report filters, then we choise one of filters the document refresh, but filters don't choosen.

can anybody help with this problem?

Hi Fanil,

What patch level are you on for BI 4.0?  I'd recommend going to the latest patch release as many prompting issues are corrected.

SAP Note 1602665 contains the link to the Release Notes and Fixed Issues guide for the latest Critical Patch for SP02 that you can review to see if these match what you're seeing.

It may also help to know a little bit more about your workflow.  Is this WebI reports based on OLAP or a relational data source?  Are you using BICS to connect to a BEx Query?

If you have Refresh on Open also selected, you may be seeing the issue outlined in KB 1649557 for Keep Last Selected Values problem:

There are several other KBs related to keep last values that may apply, depending on your workflow.

For the Report Filters, do you mean simple report filters, drill filters, Input Controls?  There are a few different ways to apply filters to a report.

Do the filter values contain special characters such as accents?

There are many KBs related to report & query filters, but I'm not sure which (if any) would apply to what you're seeing.

Thank you for your helpful answer.

We have installed SAP BO 4.0 SP02 Patch 14.

We use connection to SAP BW with unv Universes, because we have a lot of reports migrated from XI 3.x.

1) My problem is described in KB 1649557, but problem I must know wait SP4.

2) I have simple report filters(quick filters), drill filters and input controls work fine. I try find KB, but I cannot, maybe you know?

Hi Fanil,

For the Quick Filter issue, I don't see anything specific raised about the filters not working that isn't already corrected by Patch 14.

I recommend that you open a message with support on this and provide as much detail as possible such as:

- Information regarding the objects being filtered (is it a dimension, hierarchy, report variable, etc)

- Does the filter work in WebI Rich Client, or in the Web Viewer via BI LaunchPad

- If you try filtering on different objects, do those work?

It sounds like it needs a bit more investigation and potentially be raised as a defect depending on the root cause analysis.
