Issue with new users in SAP BPC

Hi Experts,

We are using SAP BPC 7.5 NW Version SP 06. We have added new users in the active directory and imported these users into BPC. We have given the relevant Task profile and member access profile to these new users. However, these new users are not able to log into the Interface for Web. Whenever, i am trying to log into the web client with these usernames and passwords, by default the system is logging in with bpc_sysadmin user. I have deleted the internet history and cache files also. Apart from that, the new users have also been given admin task profile. But still i am facing the same issue. Moreover, when i am sending data from Input Schedule using the new users, i am getting the script logic error " Error in default logic() ". But when i am sending the same data from the bpc_sysadmin user, it is going correctly without any error.

Can you please suggest what could be the issue. And during installation, is there any option for giving bpc_sysadmin as the default user for Interface for Web?

Hi Ashish,

Thanks for your reply. For the new users, certain Cost Centers are restricted in the Member Access Profile. Like the user for 1401 Cost Center will only see 1401 in the CV. Moerover, the users can log into Excel Client but are unable to send data , they are getting the Script Logic error. The script logic is not empty and it has been validated. What about the default user in Interface for Web?

Are you being promted to put in user id/pwd when you are launching the web interface. Or, does it directly log on with SYS_ADMIN user id without any prompt?

This Patch level have some incorrect authorization check for logic as I remember.

For example, if you use DESTINATIN_APP it checks write access for source Application, not for target.

What logic do you have? Any LOOKUP (in this case you must grant access to lookup application).

Yes, the prompt is coming for username/pwd in Web Interface. But the system is logging in as BPC_SYADMIN even though i am giving separate userid/pwd. I can log into Excel client using these new userids.

We just upgraded to SP 08 but still we are facing the same issue. However, this issue is not there in Development. It is coming only in Production server. In development everything is working fine. Can you please suggest what could be the issue?

Hi Soumyajit,

Please check that proper roles and authorizations have been defined in the production region if the problem is only there. You can consider upgrading to the latest SP as this may resolve any code related error in the system.

If your Dev system is on the same patch level, then maybe my message is not really helpfull, but check Note 1647045.

And about web login. What is the user you login to Windows? Check IE options:

Tools- Internet Options-Security tab-Custom Level

Section "User Authentication, Logon." Try selecting "Prompt for user name and password."

Hi Soumyajit,

Please check your member access profiles that you have given readonly/read-write access to some of the members of secured dimension as the default access is denied, I believe.

Also, check whether you are able to login to excel interface using the new user ids.

For the default logic, try validating and saving it once even if it is empty.
