Hi all,
Please can any one tell the business needs and purpose of using Customer Hierarchy.
Thanks in advance.

Ram
Hi Meenakshi,
Customer Hierarchy is primarily designed for two purposes: Pricing and Reporting.
Most people will use it to AGGREGATE pricing across "families" of companies. I.e. I might establish a hierarchy node for this parent company - under which companies fall. My pricing would be conditioned against the PARENT company...and ALL it's children would benefit from those prices.
I May also have more specific pricing contracts - one's that I need to condition against ONE of the children for SPECIFC products.. So in GENERAL...they'd get PARENT prices for product A, B, C...but for product D... might get a better deal .
From a reporting perspective... I might want to create alternate hierarchies (eg Hierarchy B) that could be reported on... eg by industry... (and I don't feel like using SIC codes) because I have my sales force deployed by industry or business units..

Raghu
