background scheduling of j2i8

hi all,

i want to schedule j2i8 in background on daily basis.

i have save the j2i8 with variant and select current date as posting date and schedule the job in sm36.

but when i see the staus of job in sm 37,then systen shows the status complete.

but nothing has been changed by j2i8.

can i conclude that changes are not done in system beccause after executing system not able to select the vendor automatically and after that transfer credit button is not activated by system?.screenshot is as attached.

pls suggest the settings need to be done so that j2i8 can be run automatically in background on daily basis.

i suppose you created the variant for the program of J2i8 in txn SE38 and not a variant of the screen from the tcode

    • If SAP has not developed the functionality of "autoclick" the button that you click when you execute the report in foreground, then it is nothing more than just a list what you get when executing in background.

In other reports like ABC analysis for Cycle count inventory you have a choice in the selection screen to decide to update the indicators automatically in background or to show the list first.

if you execute it with the list function, then you would need to select the items and click a button.

If you schedule this as a backgound job, then it is jsut a list, except you indicate updation in the selection screen.

if you cant get an answer from here, then you have to open a call at SAP and ask if an update in a background job is possible
