Offline Reporting

Hi all.....

Can i access the sap reports data OFF-LINE. Let me clear.....

My client wants data shold be available for analysis in offline(with out connecting to the SAP).

How can i do that with out using Bussiness Objects(or any third party soft.). Is any New feature is available in SAP BW 3.5 ??

Hi Srini,

with the business broadcaster you can refresh workbooks and send them out via email to the users or post them somewhere in a folder that might be accessible for this purposes. With this feature the users can access actual data without needing to login.

But the data in the reports is very large(like more than one millin). i think i cant send via e-mail.

sorry siggi, i didn't get u. where can i save the data? can he(user)save the data into his local machine??

Hi Srini,

you can execute Web Templates (Reporting Agent) and then download them in you local PC (Download Scheduler).

IF you are going to work with big amount of data the best way is a backgroud execution of your reports ... consider the option of Open Hub in order to write in DB Tables or sequential files!

About the integration with BO I noticed some "bugs" and compatibility problems ... spend some time to take some infos about.
