Webi error with BICS connection: "Characteristic ... has no master date for xxx"

Hi experts,

I have a Bex Query filtered by some of Id numbers, we did this with a match patern filter. When I create a Webi report based on this query, through BICS connection, we have a webi error:

"BW System P21 has encountered errors : INFO

Characteristic Tercero has no master date for "890903407*"

com.sap.ip.bi.bics.dataaccess.consumer.impl.selector.selection.SingleMember NoMasterdata

Tercero

890903407*

Characteristic Tercero has no master date for "890903407*"

com.sap.ip.bi.bics.dataaccess.consumer.impl.selector.selection.SingleMember NoMasterdata"

"Tercero" is the description of the characteristic filtered by match pattern.

By RSRT transaction, BEx Analyzer or Webi report based on .unv universe, this query works fine.

We have a BW 7.3 SP4 and BO 4.0 SP02 Patch 15.

Any idea would be really appreciated.

Regards,

Sergio Gordon.

    Sergio:

I am assuming that the issue is happening after transporting the query and the webi report to the production environment and you are not getting the error in the development environment.

If this error is coming only in the production system after transports moved...then check to see whether the filtered key values for master data exist in the production system. If the key master data filter does not exist in production. Remove the selection / update the selection in DEV, transport to production again to resolve the problem.

    Hi,

is this done with a Filter created in Web Intelligence or are you using a Variable in the BEx query ?

      Hi Ingo,

This is done with a filter created in Bex. Furthermore, in BEx query we have one variable as selection prompt and another hierarchy variable as selection too.

The problem is present with or without the hierarchy variable.
