Hi all,

We have around 2 million records for NA- candidates and the index is corrupted. We are generating the index again. Now is there anyway we can index documents from the point where it stopped!

Please let me know.

Regards,

Uday

It is really dependent on what sort of errors you are seeing in the trex admin tool to try and identify the root cause of why the index became corrupted in the first place.

It can be either due to perhaps anti virus running on your system or back up tool or any other number of reasons but I would advise to proceed carefully to try and identify first,  usually you to resolve a corrupt index you need to first restart the indexserver. Then delete and recreate the index from Enterprise search cockpit and preform the indexing again.

Basis is working on this issue. I would need to be ready to provide them any help needed for this one.So I am trying to gather more info. on this one.

Today again re-indexing failed due to some other batch job running parallely.

I will suggest them to find the issue first, of course thats my job now. Is there any document or link which gives enough information on indexing and re-indexing!

Uday

Hello Uday,

If you are using SES, then you can do that by going to transaction SES_ADMIN -> menu 'utilities' -> reactivate change pointers. If you haven't deleted the change pointer tables (COM_SE_CPOINTER and COM_SE_CPOINTERS) you can go to the date where you got the error and index all objects again.

Hello Uday,

If  full indexing job gets cancelled, you cannot restart from the point it got cancelled.
