Showing summary and total count in one report

Hello,

This question may be very easy to answer; but unfortunately I cannot find the method to solve my issue

This is what I am trying to do it in the Crystal report:

Assume that I have totally 1100 customers and out of them 230 customers are listening music from their IPOD, 250 of them listening music from their MP3 player and remaining them using radio to listen music. I need to show the ratio as like below

Total MP3 users are = 230 /1100

this looks very simple. However my problem is when I filter the data based on their usage (example: MP3) the data is filtered by MP3 and I cannot get the total amount of Customers.

How to get both in one report? Please give me some tips and help

Thank you,

Raj

I would create a formula to count each type of user:

    {@mp3} might be like if {usertype} = mp3 then 1 else 0

{@radio} might be like if {usertype}=radio then 1 else 0

    and so on.

Then simply total them and compare to the total users.

    Hi Raj,

When you filter it will also limit your users count. Best way to do this is

    --Create a Add Command like

Select Count(*) No_of_customers from Table where ....

--Do not link this add command to your tables

--Now when you want to get ratio; use this add command filed to arrive.

    or

Insted of filtering try to suppress the records through Section Expart. In this case you will get your total record count.

    Thanks,

    Sastry

      Hi Sastry.

Thanks for the reply. I tried many options and found that it is not possible to take the total count of the records once we filtered them

I am not sure how to add a command button in the Crystal report to execute the SQL query to take the total count of the records in the table. My report is for a ERP system and data source is a XML file (That ERP system process the data and send it to the Crystal report through XML)

Currently I am showing all the Music usage types group by

Let me know if you have any other option to try

      Thank you again,

      Raj
