Dear experts,
We have a requirement like this:
We have same materials but maintained with different models, for example we have cartridges with HP model, Samsung model etc.. These are to be maintained in inventory on a qty based. Am planning to create them as non-valuated materials. But how to maintain different models? Is it required to create different materials per different models or any other simple route is there?
Reagrds,
MM
If the valuation area needed to be the same,
Material code needed to be the same,
But the difference in valuations (accounting/stock) then you can also look for split valuation.
Through this you can maintain this material as valuated materials.
Though material is same aka cartridge
You can maintain different stock levels in inventory wrt valuation types
You can maintain different prices wrt valuation types
You can maintain different account determinations aswell.
Hence giving much of functionality.
EX:-
Split-valuation
MATERIAL | VALUATION CATEGORY | VALUATION TYPE | PLANT | VALUATION CLASS |
A123 | C1-CARTRIDGE | V1-HP | 1100 | 3000 |
A123 | C1-CARTRIDGE | V2-Samsung | 1100 | 3001 |

You can try the MPN (Manufacturers part no ) functionality. It will help you to trace the material form exact source. also you can view the stock as per the model required. Else try for variant configuration.

Hi,
i suggest to use different material masters in this situation. u may try variant configuration (Which i am not good at) option too but it may be too cumbersome.
Regards.
