EPM Add-In for Excel 10.0 - Use of EPMScaleData function

Hello,

I need to do data scaling in an input form.

In the report, the user will introduce the amounts expressed in thousands of Euros, and these amounts must be stored in Euros in BPC.

I've seen in the EPM documentation that the EPMScaleData function can help me to do this, but I don't know how to use it, so I would need some examples of use.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Robert

It retrieves the data for the entire set of members and then scale the data.

If a member is unspecified, it takes from the the context.

    Parameters required are -

Connection Name (optional, if not specified takes the active connection)

    Scale Value (mandatory parameter)

Member1 to membern (optional parameters, for the unspecified members, it takes from the context).

It will first retrieve the data based on the members provided and then will divide the data value by the scalevalue specified in the scale value parameter.

    Hope it helps!!

    • I doubt if there is such a function available. Very sure that there was no such function in 7.5. Although, in 7.5, we had something called spread, trend and weight which could be used to scale data in the input schedule but that was before sending the data. I checked in the system and could not find anything similar in EPM 10. So, users would probably have to scale using some excel functions before sending the data.

Alternatively, what you can try is to let users send data as it is and then incorporate your scaling in the default logic. That way, when the data is being sent, it will be scaled as default will run immediately after the data send.

      Hope it helps!!

    Hi Sanz,

Its almost same as EVGTS, wherein the retrieved data can be scaled. However, the scaling property of that particular account should be set to Y.

    Hope this helps.
