BO4 - Security model

We are in process of defining security model for BO4.

Have Sales Department Group who have been granted View access to top level folder in order that they can see all sub-folders but they can see all other sub-folders within top level folder even though if look at these sub-folders shows Everyone Grp as No Access.

It shows view inherited on the other sub-flders.

Do we really need to go thoruigh each of these sub-folders and remove access to sales group A.

Is there a better way of achieving this.

We have a simple security requirement

One Folder per Department and users in that department see only their folder.

How is this best achieved?

    Hi Philip,

Your requirement can be easily fullfilled by doing the following steps-

    1. Grant "View objects" (granular right) to 'Everyone' group - Apply only to objects, DO NOT apply to the subobjects.

    2. At folder "Sales Department Group", grant View/View-on-demand/Schedule/Full Control to the Sales group. Make sure that "Everyone" has "No Access" on this folder.

    Hope this helps.
