Mass update of vendor master classifcation

Hello,

I have around 9000 vendors for which I want to update one characteristic in the vendor master classification.

I tried in CL20n & CL24n but I guess they are not suitable for this mass change in one go.

Please advise.

    Hi...

Try Tcode MASS object LFA1 - Vendors. You might be able to update there.

    • with transaction MASS for object LFA1 it is not possible to update classification.

Classification is not stored in table LFA1.

in CLMM you get 3 buttons in the initial screen.

if you want replace existing values then click : Set and change values

you get to a page with 3 tabs

enter your class type of top, probably 010

then enter the characteristic you want change in the Chars column

enter the old value and the new value which shall replace he old value.

then goto the Target Objs tab.

click the box for Overwrite existing values otherwise it wont update

      then click the find button

enter the class and class type to find all vendors with that class assigned and click okay.

Now you are on the screen which is actually identical to CL30N

      click find in initial class

you get a list with all vendors matching with your selection criteria

click the icon to select all and then the copy button.

Now you can carry out the mass changes
