is Cube Designer in FC 10.0 required

We are upgrading our Financial Consolidation system from the Cartesis 10.02 version to the SAP FC 10.0 version. My question is since the Cube Desinger (formerly Analytics) is now built into FC is it required to install this component? We never used the Analytics piece of the application. Also if there is an option not to install the Cube Designer do we still need SSAS and UDF for security installed?

Thanks
