Load Bank directory Russia via BAUP

We are trying to load the bank directory via transaction BAUP and bank database file (bnkseek.dbf) from CBR. The problem we have is that the loaded data contains unreadable text (bank name and address). The bank keys etc are correct. Was wondering somebody had some experience with this or if somebody had similar problems with this?

Any input would be appreciated. Do we still need to do a conversion step on the bnkseek.dbf file which we are missing? I already asked via OSS, but they just reply it should work ok as described in OSS note for setting up transaction BAUP for Russia.

You need to check with the source. In UK, usually these files are being supplied Reed Information Services. Fortunately, everything is in English and we able successfully, able to load them without any problem.

Are you really sure that BAUP is used for the country Russia. Because this program is only limited for certain countries mentioned in the drop down list of this transaction code.

    Hi David

We face the same problem. We do support and would like to update BNKA for our Russian colleagues.

As we operate on a different OS than the Russian colleagues we see other chars. Therefore is the content (name of the bank, address, etc) not appropiate for our pupose.

SAP gave us the advice to change the registry of our computer system, to act like a Russian one, which for us is not a suitable way to do this. Our demand to enhance RFBVALL_0 to convert the dbf file seems not to be possible at all, so SAP support. Till this moment there is no solution.

This is all with EHP7 SP13.

For lower ones like SP11 there is one workaround which fitted very well:

    1. Download BNKSEEK.DBF
    2. Open in excel
    3. Save it as 'Text (Ms_Dos) .txt
    4. Close the file
    5. Open the file in excel (File, open..) as textfile (prn, txt, csv)
    6. The converter assistent opens:
      1. start import by 2, data source 866
      2. spacing by tabstopp
      3. select all rows and define them as text
    7. save the file as unicode text .txt
    8. done
