Mandatory Variable option is not editable

Hi Friends,

After the variable was created, in the properties section i could see "Is Mandatory = False". I want like to change it to True,  but it's not editable.

When i do a data preview for this information, the variable pop-ups are also missing during the runtime. Could anyone please help me to understand this.

Also make sure that you are not editing the Analytical view in another window. Close all windows and try editing it. It should work.

Manish, I could edit the created variable as you have shown. However, my question is Is Mandatory option in the Properties section, which is by default set to False is not changeable to True that means the variable will become a Mandatory one.

Secondly, even if it's set to Optional by default but when i do a data preview, it should bring the pop-up box. But why is it not happening in my case.

I am on rev26 and the flag can be checked or unchecked even in the UI;

As for the prompt, as long as you have filtered the attribute in question in the logical view with this variable, it does show up. Just creation of the variable is not sufficient.

For this, you need to right click on the particular field on which you are creating the variable and choose the option Create variable Apply filter. Please find the screenshot below for reference.

Now, when you are previewing your data, pop will be visible to you.

yes, it is not editable. if you will create the variable then it is mandatory and everytime you are previewing the data, the window will pop up.

Does it also not work in the variable creation/edit UI:

As for the pop-up at run time make sure you have applied the variable on the attribute in the logical view.
